Franschhoek Wine Estate Cinema Room

Converting a cellar room in a historic Franschhoek wine estate into a world-class home cinema presented unique architectural and acoustic challenges. The room was designed from the ground up to deliver a true Dolby Atmos experience — with Klipsch reference speakers positioned precisely according to the Dolby Atmos speaker placement guidelines. A Sony 4K laser projector throws onto a 140-inch motorised screen, and a Trinnov Altitude processor delivers room correction that compensates for the room's stone wall construction. The historic aesthetic of the cellar space was carefully preserved in collaboration with the estate's design team.
